2. The Regulator’s guide

The Information Regulator publishes a guide on how to use PAIA (section 10). It is available from the Regulator at inforegulator.org.za and from their offices, in all official languages.

3. Categories of records we hold

• Customer records — accounts, collection addresses, bookings, collection and destruction records, certificates, invoices and payment references.
• Compliance records — chain-of-custody records, manifests, destruction certificates and quarterly returns retained under the Waste Act (5 years).
• Personnel and contractor records — driver identity verification, PPE and training records.
• Company records — statutory, financial and tax records.

Records available in terms of other legislation (for example company records under the Companies Act) are available as that legislation provides. Your own personal information is available to you directly and free of charge in the app — see the privacy policy; you never need a PAIA request for your own data.

4. How to request access

• Use Form C(prescribed request form), available from the Information Regulator’s website, and send it to admin@asepta.co.za.
• Identify the record, the right you seek to exercise or protect, and why the record is required for that right.
• The prescribed request and access fees under PAIA apply; we will tell you the amount before processing.
• We respond within 30 days as PAIA requires. If access is refused, the grounds will be given, and you may complain to the Information Regulator or apply to court.

This manual is available free of charge at this address and on request from admin@asepta.co.za.
